The Connected Traveler  — aka your SmokyMtnBears — spent a full, thrilling October on the trade-show road, further cementing our reputation as sought-after experts in luxury, incentive, celebratory, and LGBTQIA+ travel. connecting with luxury suppliers, incentive planners, meeting professionals, and LGBTQIA+ travel leaders at four must-attend events. From the sun-drenched sands of Baha Mar to downtown Knoxville, the Mile High City, and the bright desert of Palm Springs, our calendar was packed — and the message was the same everywhere: suppliers want us in their rooms, at their tables, and on their itineraries.

PROUD Experiences + ILTM North America — Baha Mar, Bahamas

The combination of PROUD Experiences and ILTM (International Luxury Travel Market) North America at Baha Mar brought together the world’s top LGBTQIA+-friendly luxury suppliers and advisors. Through pre-scheduled meetings and networking sessions, SmokyMtnBears strengthened ties with resorts, cruise lines, and tour operators committed to inclusive, authentic luxury travel experiences. These conversations are already shaping curated Pride departures, milestone celebrations, and high-end incentive programs.

NorthStar Meetings Group — Small & Boutique Meetings, Knoxville, TN

The Small & Boutique Meetings conference by NorthStar Meetings Group focuses on planners creating high-touch, intimate events. With inspiring sessions and a keynote by NASCAR driver Jennifer Jo Cobb, the conference highlighted resilience and leadership in event design. SmokyMtnBears showcased our expertise in designing boutique incentives and celebratory programs that are personal, memorable, and flawlessly executed.

Society Summit — The Travel Society, Denver, CO

Society Summit brings together independent luxury advisors and top suppliers for education, networking, and thought leadership. Scott’s presentation highlighted SmokyMtnBears’ ability to deliver luxury and celebratory travel programs, from private yacht charters to milestone anniversaries and exclusive hotel experiences. These opportunities reinforce our position as a trusted partner for high-value group travel. Plus, we won another award!

IGLTA Buyer/Supplier Marketplace & Global Convention — Palm Springs, CA

The IGLTA Marketplace and Convention is the premier event for LGBTQIA+-inclusive suppliers and buyers. This year, SmokyMtnBears and Mx. Darling Adventures (a fellow Connected Traveler) connected with new partners and long-standing allies, including the Queer Nomads, strengthening relationships in luxury and niche LGBTQIA+ travel markets. The combination of appointments, workshops, and networking created ideal opportunities for relationship-building and future business.

A Personal Reflection

Some of the most humbling moments of October came as CEOs of major companies, including international cruise lines, presidents and vice presidents of international hoteliers, and leaders of national tourism boards reached out personally to meet us. It’s overwhelming and inspiring to be welcomed into a circle of amazing, strong people who are giving TED Talks, winning awards, and shaping the future of travel. To hug them, share stories, and be accepted as one of them is both an honor and a reminder of how far passion and professionalism can take you.  We are grateful and are truly blessed.

Why Suppliers Keep Inviting Us

Across all four events the pattern was clear: suppliers are actively seeking partners who deliver on several fronts — credibility in LGBTQIA+ markets, skill running luxury celebratory groups, and experience delivering incentive programs that balance WOW factor with flawless execution. SmokyMtnBears brings:
