Gratuities (Tips) Are Now Separate
- Gratuities used to be bundled into the fare; under the new model, they will show as a separate line item.
- Guests may prepay gratuities at $20/person/night or pay onboard at $22/person/night.
- Removing gratuities from the fare helps make Virgin’s pricing more comparable to cruise lines that do not bundle tips. This aligns Virgin Voyages with other major cruise lines where service charges are technically discretionary (though strongly encouraged).
Importantly: Sailors can visit Sailor Services onboard and have the gratuities adjusted or removed if they choose. If you do so, you run the risk of being flagged and you may be required to provide specific instances where the crew fell short of expectations.
